Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a significant decision to provide substantial relief towards duty charges for House Transfers concerning state’s lower and middle-income families and individuals, said a release issued by CMO Chief Minister’s Office. As per the decision, in case of Societies, Associations, and Non-Trading Corporations carry out Property Transfers through Allotment Letters or Share Certificates, up to 80 % of the payable duty will be waived off. Thus, only about 20 % of the Original Duty amount will be levied. The Duty Exemption will be granted under Section 9(a) of the Gujarat Stamp Act, 1958.
