In a ministry led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has brought drastic changes in the modalities of functioning of Ministers and their staff, to avoid incidents like UPA government of Minister Raja and secretary Chandolia who were accused of pay-offs.
In the latest hierarchical reform, it is ensured that any central government official upto the rank of joint secretary will not be allowed to work in the ministerial staff.
Selection of ministers were personally done by PM Narendra Modi himself to share the work load of cabinet ministers.
Experts believe that this is a unique arrangement for the Prime Minister to keep tabs on important ministries. Knowing fully well that perception is vital in influencing the public mood and transparency, the arrangement is also aimed at at preventing ministers falling into any trap that can later embarrass the entire government.
