Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat during March 7 and 8. He will Surat and Navsari. During PM visit to Navsari on March 8, on International Women’s Day, the security arrangements will be overseen by female police officers and personnel, as informed by Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi. Female police officers and personnel have been deployed to oversee security, law and order arrangements. ADGP Additional Director General of Police Nipuna Torawane, year 2000-batch IPS officer, will be monitoring the arrangements, which include the deployment of 1 IGP-level officer, 5 SPs, 19 DySPs, 61 PI Police Inspectors, 187 PSI Sub-Inspectors, and over 2000 constables.
Minister added “PM Narendra Modi will preside over the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan.’ Over 1.5 lakh women are expected to participate, making this program very unique. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Gujarat Police has initiated a unique experiment—the first of its kind—where the responsibility of maintaining law and order during the PM’s program has been entrusted to female officers.”
