In Porbandar district, in an attack by villagers of Sodhana on Dalits due to conflict on growing crop over pasture land, 3 dalits were injured out of which 1 person died during treatment. The case has booked registered as a murder case. Dalit family of victim has denied to accept the deadbody of victim. On the other hand leaders of other community in the village has given memorandum to the Collector. Whereas Dalit family dening to accept deadbody of victim is protesting in front of SP Police Superintendent office. The matter has created sensation.
Rama Singarkhiya and family for past many years was staying at Sodhana village but had conflict with village Sarpanch over reaping the field. Due to previous 2-3 times of conflict victim’s family had migrated to Porbandar and started living at Ashram.On one side vilagers and BJP-Congress leaders of Maher community have submitted memorandum to Collector. Villagers and dalit leaders reached SP office to meet SP returned from Rath Yatra duty at Baporo office and complained against Bagvadar PSI Vala for negligence and permit victim family to do cremation at the site where he was attacked, then only they will accept the deadbody kept at Rajkot. Preently, police is urging victim family to accept the deadbody and assured for action against those who are responsible whichis not acceptable to Dalit family who is still protesing in front of SP office.
