Today court in Kutch district pronounced Ex IAS officer Pradeep Sharma to 5 years of rigorous imprisonment for 2011 case of irregularities in the allotment of government land to a private company, which resulted in a loss to the public exchequer. Sharma, who was then collector and found guilty of manipulation related to the 2004 land allocation to Saw Pipes Pvt Ltd.
The Court also sentenced urban planner Natubhai Desai, ex mamlatdar Narendra Prajapati, and former resident deputy collector Ajitsinh Zala to 5 years in jail each, and a fine of Rs 10,000.
