A large number of devotees thronged the holy Somnath Jyotirlinga on the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan. Somnath Mahadev was beautifly decorated with Bilvapatra ornaments on this holy day. This special decoration became a center of attraction for the Devotees.Many Devotees felt blessed by having a Complete Darshan with Faith and Devotion in their hearts.
It is said about Bilvapatra,
दर्शनं बिल्ववृक्षस्य स्पर्शनं पापनाशनम्।
अघोरपापसंपर्कं बिल्वपत्रं शिवर्पणम्॥”
Meaning:
Seeing and touching the Bilva tree is a sin destroyer.
It is important to offer Bilva leaves to Lord Shiva for liberation from grave sins.
Special Religious Programs are organized for Devotees every Monday during the month of Shravan and thousands of Devotees from all over India and Abroad come to Get Darshan of Somnath Mahadev.
Somnath Trust has ensured facilities and arrangements for Devotees during the month of Shravan so that Devotees can take advantage of darshan peacefully. On the first Monday of Shravan, a total of 70 flag worships, 69 Someshwar Mahapujans, and 1007 Rudrabhishek paths were performed.
