Ahmedabad, 15th April 2025 — Swarrnim College of Agriculture, part of Swarrnim Startup & Innovation University recently organized a one-day workshop on Natural Farming aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices among students and aspiring farmers. A total of 84 students, faculty members and farmers participated in the event. It was coordinated by Dr. Darshana Rathod, Head of the Department, and Prof. Chena Panchal, Assistant Professor. The event was held under the guidance of Dr. N.M. Patel, Principal of Swarrnim College of Agriculture.

Participants were addressed by esteemed guests Mr. L.K. Patel and Mr. Kaushalbhai Patel. The workshop also included practical demonstrations on campus and a visit to a progressive farmer’s field. The objective of the workshop was to promote sustainable agriculture, empower farmers, bridge knowledge gaps, encourage healthy food production, foster innovation and experimentation, build community and support networks, support climate resilience, and encourage youth and new farmers.

As an outcome of the event, participants learned practical farming skills. Farmers and attendees became more open to adopting eco-friendly, low-cost farming methods over chemical-intensive agriculture. Connections were built among farmers, experts, and organizations, encouraging knowledge exchange and community-driven farming initiatives. Action plans were also developed to begin implementing natural farming practices post-workshop.




This session helped spread awareness regarding government schemes, subsidies, and marketing channels for organic/natural produce.
The event concluded with a valedictory session, vote of thanks, and group photo. Event successfully fulfilled its objective of spreading awareness and building capacity among participants to adopt eco-friendly, sustainable agricultural practices. Through interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and expert guidance, attendees gained valuable insights into the principles and techniques of natural farming.
