Tragic stabbing at the Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad. A 15-year-old Class 10 student, identified as Nayan Santani, was fatally stabbed by a junior student outside the school premises on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Eyewitnesses and students report that no ambulance (108 service) was called. Instead, Nayan lay injured for around 30 minutes, unattended by staff or security, before classmates arranged a rickshaw.The DEO District Education Officer flagged this as “serious negligence” and ordered that all physical classes be suspended and moved online until further notice.
Parents allege the school delayed medical aid and even called a water tanker to wash away blood, possibly tampering with the scene.
A forensic team and police are verifying whether this claim holds.On August 20, dozens of agitated parents and community members stormed the school, vandalizing property and attacking staff amid escalating protests. The principal reportedly went into hiding. The protest also carried communal undertones, as the victim and accused belonged to different religious communities. Right-wing groups further escalated tensions.A four-year history of conflict was reported between the victim and one of the juvenile suspects. The school is alleged to have ignored earlier bullying complaints.
