epicenter of tremors were 13 kilometers away from Bhachau.
On 26th January 2001 massive earthquake of 7.9 magnitude in Gujarat occurred on India’s 52nd Republic Day, at 08:46 am and lasted for over 2 minutes. Epicentre was about 9 km south-southwest of the village of Chobari in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch District of Gujarat.
The quake more than 19727 were killed and 166000 were injured and nearly millions were left homeless.
