Tribute to the Architect of Modern India on Ambedkar Jayanti

April 14, 2025 Today marks the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, fondly remembered as Babasaheb, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, a social reformer, economist, jurist, and a true champion of equality and justice.

Ambedkar Jayanti, celebrated annually on April 14, is not just a day of remembrance, but a celebration of the ideals and values that Dr. Ambedkar stood for—social justice, human rights, and empowerment of the marginalized.

Born in 1891 in Mhow (now in Madhya Pradesh), Dr. Ambedkar rose above severe social and economic adversities to become one of the most educated and influential leaders in Indian history. With doctorates from both Columbia University and the London School of Economics, he was not only a scholar but also a visionary leader who laid the foundation of modern India’s democratic and inclusive framework.

Dr. Ambedkar’s greatest contribution remains his role as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Indian Constitution. He ensured that the Constitution guaranteed fundamental rights to all citizens, regardless of caste, creed, or gender.

He also tirelessly worked towards the upliftment of Dalits and other marginalized communities, advocating for reservation policies and equal rights. His thoughts on liberty, equality, and fraternity continue to inspire generations.

Today, tributes are pouring in from across the nation. Political leaders, social activists, educational institutions, and citizens are commemorating his life and legacy with floral tributes, seminars, and cultural programs. Digital platforms are abuzz with messages, quotes, and artwork honoring Babasaheb.

As India celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti, it is a moment to reflect on his vision of an equitable society and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the principles of justice and fraternity.
