Two complaints under Land Grabbing Act in Ahmedabad

Today first complaint registered under Land Grabbing Act in Ahmedabad . Two separate complaints registered against four accused. Complaint registered at Sarkhej and Ellisbridge police stations .

First complaint registered in Zone 7 area jurisdiction for Occupying Panjrapol Institute land and private land in Sarkhej area.

Recently Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had announced strict implementation in the state of Land Grabbing Prohibition Act to protect the interests of farmers and legal land owners.

Rupani announced enforcement of the historic Gujarat Land Grabbing Prohibition Act with stringent provisions against illegal land grabbing by land mafias in the state from today – December 16, 2020

CM Rupani announced legal provisions strictly enforcing the Gujarat Land Grabbing Prohibition Act with a determination to control the land mafias and protect the interests of farmers and legitimate land owners

  • Land Grabbers – Implementation of Land Grabbing Prohibition Act will be a new milestone for the punishment of land mafias
  • With the commitment of Vijay Rupani Government to take legal action against the land grabbers of common man-farmers-rural citizens in the state effective from Wednesday 16th November 2020.

Formation of committee of 6 officers under the chairmanship of District Collector for comprehensive scrutiny of complaints received under this Act.
The timeline of the investigation process is fixed at each stage
Complaints do not last long

Decision will have to be taken within 21 days on the investigation report submitted before the committee
In case of expropriation of government land or expropriation of land by defiant elements, the Collector and the State Government as the Chairman of the Committee may take Suo Moto action on their own.
Special Courts also take legal action against land grabbers with Suo Moto cognaizance.
