UPSC results declared today; 4 girls among 5 toppers

Today, results of Civil Services examinations Union Public Services Commission, UPSC. Results of UPSC have been declared within four days of finishing date for the interviews.

As per press note published on the website www.upsc.gov.in, total 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment. Ira Singhal, Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta were among the toppers in the examination. Noticable thing is four out of the five toppers are women.

Vandana Rao, who is also from Delhi, has got fourth rank while Suharsha Bhagat, an IRS (Income Tax cadre) officer has got fifth position in the examination. A total number of 1,236 candidates, including 590 in General category, 354 belonging to Other Backward Class, 194 from Scheduled Caste and 98 from Scheduled Tribe, have been recommended for appointment to various central government services, the UPSC said.

Third rank holder Nidhi feels proud on her getting selected in the examination. “It is really a proud moment. I put in lot of hard work and finally it paid,” she said. Nidhi is presently Assistant Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise.

Vandana Rao, who got the fourth rank, is the topper in the Other Backward Class (OBC) category.
