Well marked low pressure area over south Gujarat region & adjoining Gulf of Khambhat

Well marked low pressure area over south Gujarat region & neabouring Gulf of Khambhat & likely intensification into a Depression over northeast Arabian Sea by tomorrow morning.

As per weather agency in Gujarat, there will be no damage in the state. It will experience low to moderate rain in Gujarat with windy weather.

Post Cyclonic Storm Gulab lay as a well marked low pressure area over south Gujarat region & adjoining Gulf of Khambhat at 0830 hrs IST of today, on 29th September. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards, emerge into northeast Arabian Sea & intensify into a Depression by tomorrow morning, on the 30th Sept. 2021. Then it is very likely to move further west-northwestwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during the subsequent 24 hours. Thereafter it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards towards Pakistan Makran coasts, moving away from the Indian coast.

Well marked low pressure area is likely to move nearly westward over Saurashtra and Gulf of Cambay. Proximity of this water body and Arabian Sea is pumping enough moisture and the warm surface of water bodies is supporting its intensification.


As an effect of Cyclone Gulab now lies over central Gujarat and North Madhya Maharashtra as a well marked low. North Konkan, North Madhya Maharashtra, South Gujarat, Saurashtra has been battered with heavy rains during last 24 hr.


In Botad rain fell in all the talukas of the district yesterday.1 to 3.25 inches of rain fell in the district in last 24 hours. Gadhada 1 inch, Barwala 3.25 inches, Botad 2.5 inches, Ranpur 1.25 inches of rain during 24 hours.
Tapi Abundant water inflow into the dam following the upstream rains. Currently the dam receives 2,07,910 cusecs of water.


Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours in Dang district , Saputara: 10.72 inches ,Ahwa: 6.52 inches ,Waghai: 5 inches, Subir: 4 inches.


50 gates of Bhavnagar Palitana Shetrunji Dam were reopened 1 foot. The doors were opened as the water revenue from the upstream increased. 4500 cusecs of water from the dam is being discharged into the river. The outflow of water from the dam is 1,90,449 cusecs. The surface of danger level at 345 feet.

All 29 gates of Rajkot Bhadar 1 Dam were opened. 29 doors were opened up to 6 feet. Alert issued to 22 villages of 4 talukas.

After Gulab cyclone effect on coast of Gujarat, another cyclone Shaheen will emerge. Which is expected to become active in the Arabian Sea from 1 October. But its direction will be from Naliya to Karachi, Oman but its effect will be up to Kutch, Jamnagar, Dwarka so that the coastal area will get heavy rains with heavy winds.
