23 April is a considered as symbolic date for world literature. World Book Day or World Book and Copyright Day (also known as International Day of the Book or World Book Days) is a yearly event organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to promote reading, publishing and copyright. World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration by authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading in over 100 countries all around the world.
