AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava Gets 7-Year Jail Term in Forest Staff Assault Case

A Sessions Court in Rajpipla, Gujarat, has convicted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava in a case involving an alleged attack on forest department personnel. The court also found eight other individuals guilty, including Vasava’s wife, bringing the total number of convicted persons to nine.

After hearing the case, the court awarded Vasava a seven-year prison sentence. The matter stemmed from an incident in which forest officials accused the MLA and his associates of obstructing government duty, threatening officials, and engaging in violent conduct during a dispute.

The verdict marks a major legal setback for the Dediapada legislator and is expected to have political implications in Gujarat. Further legal proceedings, including appeals against the conviction, may follow in the coming days.
