Gandhinagar, July 26, 2025: The Gandhinagar Military Station today witnessed an inspiring display of patriotism and unity as more than 2000 participants took part in the Kargil Vijay Diwas Run powered by Chiripal Group. Held on the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War, the event honoured the valour and sacrifice of the nation’s armed forces.

The run featured two categories—a 10 km flag-off at 6:00 a.m. and a 5 km flag-off at 6:30 a.m.—with both races starting and concluding inside the picturesque military base. Civilians, armed forces personnel, veterans, and students ran side by side, navigating the scenic route adorned with Indian Army insignia and surrounded by rich flora and fauna, including peacocks and nilgai.

WG CDR ABHISHEK KUMAR TIWARI, Ministry of Defence, Defence PRO, said, “The overwhelming participation in today’s run is a testament to the nation’s unwavering respect for our Kargil heroes. The Kargil Vijay Diwas Run is more than a sporting event—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers. We thank all partners who made this memorable day possible.”

Mr. Ronak Chiripal, Promoter, Chiripal Group, said, “Chiripal Group is proud to have powered this remarkable initiative. Today’s participation reflects the deep emotional connection that every Indian shares with the bravery of our armed forces. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that bring communities together in the spirit of unity and national pride.”

The event was supported by Radio Mirchi as the radio partner, DD News and DD Girnar as news partners, and Cyruns as the technical advisor. Medical teams, hydration points, and ambulance services were deployed along the route to ensure the safety of all participants.
