Rain forecast in Gujarat in next 48 hours; intensity of rain will increase from today

Ahmedabad: Rainy weather has prevailed across the state. Gujarat is witnessing universal rain, it seems rivers are flowing on both the banks. Universal rainfall has been reported in 229 talukas of Gujarat in last 24 hours. Heavy rain is still predicted in North Gujarat and Kutch for 2 days. In last 24 hours, maximum rain in Vapi is 7 inches. Heavy rain is forecast in 16 districts today.

Narmada dam level rises due to heavy rains in the upstream, water level of Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam is continuously increasing. The level of Narmada dam has increased by 1.75 meters in the last 24 hours. At present, the water level of Narmada Dam has reached 125.79 meters. The dam currently has an influx of 2 lakh 92 thousand cusecs of water. All power house units of River Bed Power House (RBPH) and Canal Head Power House (CHPH) have been commissioned. All gates of Indira Sagar and Omkareshwar dams in Madhya Pradesh have also been opened.

Mount Girnar has flourished very much. Jamjir waterfall has come alive due to heavy rain in Gir Somnath. Tourists have also flocked in large numbers to witness the delightful scenery of Jamjir Falls. On the other hand, the Sunsar waterfall in Bhiloda of Aravalli is also witnessing a beautiful sight as it comes alive. Sunsar waterfall near Dharti Mata temple is flowing and tourists are enjoying bathing in the waterfall.

48 hours heavy rain forecast in Gujarat

Meteorological Department has already alerted that intensity of rain will increase in the state from today. Some heavy and some very heavy rain is predicted for 3 days. Heavy rain is forecast in Saurashtra, North Gujarat today.

Heavy rain is also forecast in Jamnagar, Rajkot, Botad, Ahmedabad and Kheda
Rain forecast for Dwarka, Morbi, Porbandar, Anand, Valsad and Ahmedabad
According to an update of Meteorological Department, intensity of rain will reduce from July 26. Cyclonic circulation system is forecast to get activated. So far, the state has received 60 percent of season’s rainfall.

147 talukas of Gujarat received heavy rain from 6 am to 10 am today, the highest being 3.75 inches in Tharad of Banaskantha. In Bhabhar it rained 4,5 inch. Low lying areas are water logged in Bhabhar. Heavy downpour in Banaskantha since last night.


Weather agencies have given forecast of heavy rain in Gujarat in next 24 hours.
Diyodar 2.8 inch, Vav and Tharad 1.6 inch of rain lashed.

In Valsad, More than 6 inches of rain lashed in Kaprada, 50,000 cusecs of water influx in Madhuban dam, Damanganga weir dam overflowing again it started flowing on both banks of Damanganga river.
