Gandhinagar, April 7, 2026: A crucial meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Parliamentary Board commenced today at the Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar to finalize candidates for the upcoming local body elections across Gujarat.

According to party sources, the meeting will decide names for a wide range of civic bodies, including 15 Municipal Corporations, 84 Municipalities, 34 District Panchayats, and 260 Taluka Panchayats.

The announcement of candidates is expected to begin in phases starting tomorrow evening. The meeting is scheduled to continue for three days, reflecting the масштаб and importance of the upcoming elections.

Party leaders are engaged in detailed discussions to ensure strategic selection of candidates across all regions. Meanwhile, April 11 has been set as the last date for filing nomination forms.
