Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel conducted a site visit to review the progress of several important under-construction development projects in Gujarat, emphasizing timely completion and high-quality execution.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of Phase 4 to Phase 6 of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project, covering a 17.20-kilometre stretch from the Narmada Canal Siphon to Chiloda Bridge. The project forms a crucial part of the larger Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Riverfront Development initiative, which will extend across a total length of 37.60 kilometres.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the three phases currently under development, including the stretches from Narmada Canal Karai to PDEU, PDEU to Shahpur Bridge, and Shahpur Bridge to Chiloda Bridge. He directed officials to ensure that all works are completed within stipulated timelines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Upon completion, the riverfront project is expected to transform the region by creating an attractive recreational and tourism destination for residents of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and GIFT City areas. The project will also strengthen road connectivity and supporting infrastructure across the corridor.
Shri Bhupendra Patel also visited Lekawada near Gandhinagar to inspect the construction of the new campus of Gujarat Technological University (GTU), being developed on a 100-acre site. He reviewed the progress of the campus construction and provided guidance to ensure timely completion. The new GTU campus is expected to be completed by October, while the Sabarmati Riverfront Development phases are targeted for completion by the end of 2027.
Minister of State for Water Resources Shri Ishwarsinh Patel, Chief Minister’s Advisor Shri S. S. Rathore, senior secretaries, and officials from concerned departments accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection and provided detailed updates on the projects’ progress.
