Due to heavy rainfall in Navsari district, which has led to the need for relocating residents in some areas, and in view of the weather department’s alert for tomorrow, all Anganwadis, schools, colleges, and ITIs across the district will remain closed on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Educational institutions may continue academic activities through online classes, wherever feasible.
All Surat Textile Markets to Remain Closed on July 8 Due to Heavy Rain
In view of the continuous heavy rainfall and severe waterlogging across the city, the Federation of Surat Trade and Textile Associations (FOSTTA) has announced that all textile markets in Surat will remain completely closed on July 8.
However, shop owners whose premises are located in basements or lower ground floors will be permitted to open their shops only for essential purposes, such as shifting goods to a safer location or carrying out other urgent work. Prior approval from the concerned market association will be required before opening their shops.
