Ahmedabad witnessed a major push toward sustainable urban development as Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, participated in a large-scale tree plantation drive aimed at expanding the city’s green cover.

During the event, the Union Minister also flagged off 155 new electric BRTS and AMTS buses, marking a significant step towards strengthening Ahmedabad’s eco-friendly public transport system.
Under the leadership of Amit Shah, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched its ambitious Mission Five Million Trees, which included a mass tree plantation campaign and the inauguration of 101 newly developed Oxygen Parks across different parts of the city to enhance urban greenery and improve environmental sustainability.
The programme also featured the inauguration and foundation stone laying of development projects worth ₹405 crore, undertaken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), and the Roads & Buildings Department.
The event was attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Minister of State for Urban Development Darshana Vaghela, and several other senior dignitaries, highlighting the Gujarat government’s continued focus on green infrastructure, sustainable mobility, and comprehensive urban development.
