Ground assessment conducted in Sonwadi, Salej and Gadat villages; actual status of survey operations reviewed

Navsari: Following the heavy and incessant rainfall that recently affected several parts of Navsari district, Gujarat Agriculture Minister Shri Jitu Vaghela conducted an on-ground visit to flood-affected villages of Gandevi taluka, including Sonwadi, Salej and Gadat, to assess the situation. Tribal Development Minister Shri Nareshbhai Patel was also present during the visit.
During the inspection, Agriculture Minister Shri Vaghela interacted directly with affected residents and farmers to understand their concerns. He personally reviewed the ground situation and gathered details regarding damage caused to houses, orchards, agricultural crops and livestock. He also received direct feedback from villagers regarding government relief assistance and the ongoing damage assessment survey.
Navsari District Collector Shri Manish Gurwani briefed the ministers in detail about the relief, rescue, restoration and damage survey operations carried out by the district administration amid the heavy rainfall situation. The minister also held a review meeting with senior officials of various departments to evaluate the progress of the survey work.
During the meeting, Shri Jitu Vaghela directed officials to ensure that the assessment of damages to houses, crops and livestock in every affected village is carried out in a transparent, accurate and time-bound manner. He instructed the administration to work with full commitment so that eligible beneficiaries receive government assistance as per norms without any delay.
The visit was attended by Navsari MLA Shri Rakeshbhai Desai, District Panchayat President Smt. Niraliaben Nayak, senior officials of the district administration, local representatives, village leaders and a large number of residents.
