Ahmedabad | July 18, 2026 The death toll in the devastating fire at a firecracker factory in Ahmedabad’s Ramol area has risen to nine, while six injured victims continue to receive treatment at two government hospitals.

According to hospital officials, nine victims were brought to LG Hospital following the incident. Of these, four were declared dead on arrival and their bodies were shifted to the hospital mortuary. The deceased included one man and three women.
The remaining five critically injured victims were admitted for treatment. However, four of them later succumbed to their burn injuries during treatment. These patients had suffered approximately 95% burn injuries. The four who died during treatment included one man and three children.
At present, one woman remains admitted at LG Hospital, and hospital sources have confirmed that her condition is stable.
Meanwhile, Asarwa Civil Hospital received six injured victims from the incident. One patient died, while five others are currently undergoing treatment. The injured are admitted to the Burn Ward on the third floor (G/4), Trauma Centre, where they are receiving specialized medical care.
The tragic incident occurred at the Talent Firecracker Factory located in Mehmudpura on the Ramol–Gatrad Road on Saturday, July 18, 2026, after a massive fire broke out on the factory premises. Rescue teams, fire personnel, and local authorities responded swiftly to the emergency.
The Gujarat Government has announced an ex gratia compensation of ₹4 lakh for the families of each deceased victim and ₹50,000 for each injured person. Authorities have assured that all necessary medical assistance and support are being provided to those affected.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and officials are expected to examine whether safety norms and fire regulations were being followed at the factory.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi through PMO and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel through CMO has expressed grief over the fire incident and shared a post on their Twitter (X) handle.
