PM Narendra Modi Congratulates Skyroot Aerospace Ahead of Historic Vikram-1 Launch

New Delhi | July 18, 2026 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his best wishes to Skyroot Aerospace ahead of the historic maiden orbital launch of Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle.

Scheduled for 11:30 AM, the mission marks a significant milestone in India’s space journey and represents a major step forward for the country’s rapidly expanding private space sector.

In his message, the Prime Minister described the launch as “a historic new frontier for India’s space journey”, emphasizing that the mission showcases the talent, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit of India’s youth.

Vikram-1 is a four-stage launch vehicle designed to offer rapid, reliable, and on-demand satellite launch services, strengthening India’s commercial space capabilities and enhancing its position in the global space market.

PM Modi highlighted that the mission reflects the success of the Government’s space-sector reforms, which have opened new avenues for innovation, private participation, and entrepreneurship. He noted that these reforms are enabling Indian startups to play a leading role in advanced space technology.

Extending his wishes to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team, the Prime Minister said:

“My best wishes to the entire Skyroot Aerospace team for a successful launch. May Vikram-1 soar high, create history and inspire a generation of innovators.”

He also encouraged citizens, particularly young Indians, to witness the landmark mission and express their support for the team by using the hashtag #IndiaWithVikram1 on social media.
