Ahmedabad: Netrotsav celebration ahead of Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra


In Ahmedabad, Netrotsav celebration ahead of Lord Jagannath will be done ahead of Rath yatra.

 

On Wednesday 6th July, as per Ashadh Sud second of Hindu Calender month, 139th Rath Yatra of lord Jagannath in Ahmedabad will have 18 elephants (Gajraj), 101 Trucks, 30 Akhadas readying themselves for dangerous stunts, 18 Bhajan Mandali , 3 Band and 3000 Sadhu Saints. Lord Jagannath will go on Nagar Yatra starting from Jagannath temple in Jamalpur at 7:00 am in the morning and return to the temple by 8:30 pm in the evening.

 

At 4:00 am Mangala Aarti will be performed which will be attened by BJP President Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel will do Pahind ceremony .

 

Netrotsav ceremony will be attended by Gujarat BJP President Vijay Rupani and governor OP Kohli. As a prasd 25,000 kg mug, 600 kg jamun, 300 kg cucumber, 300 kg pomegranate, 2 lakh Uparna will be given on that day.

 

Two days of Rath Yatra are important.  On Monday lord Jagannath will return from Maternal House to Jagannath temple by 8:00 pm and do Netrotsav ceremony, will chant sholakas and tied their eyes. At 9:30 pm Dhajarohan will be done by Mayor Gautam Shah. At 10:00 pm Maha Aarti will be performed in which governor OP Kohli will attend.
