Recently in Ahmedabad, 4 patients lost their eye-sight post cataract operation at LG Lallubhai Gordhandas Hospital in Maninagar area. One doctor and 3 nurses were suspended. On patients complaining about eye-sight doctor suspected surgical infection as a reason for vision loss.
AMC Officials and Ahmedabad Mayor rushed to the hospital and trying to probe the case. As per staff nurse in LG Hospital enhanced number of operations with bogus operations is shown and our signatures are taken on that.
Ahmedabad Mayor Guatam Shah talked to staff nurse and patients after the incident and expressed concern over infection in the eyes of cataract patients. He said that this case is different from incident of Nagari Hopsital of Ahmedabad.
As an immediate action Supretendent Yogendra Modi and HOD Bina Desai were issued with Show cause notice. AMC Commissioner D Thara obtained intermediate report in the case.
Today it was ordered by AMC Commissiner to reinstate suspended nurses of LG Hospital.
