Today in Deesa of Banaskantha, in a strange bet with friends a 30 year boy swallowed up one foot long pincers and is now struggling for life in a private hospital. Bhavrabhai Meghwal a resident of Panchala village under Sanchor tehsil of Jalor district of neighbouring Rajasthan is put on ventilator (life support system for artificial breathing) in Akash Hospital in Deesa.
In-charge of the hospital Dr. Tapan Gandhi said that his condition was critical with the food intake line in his body badly ruptured. ‘A team of doctors will give a last ditch attempt to bring out the pincers and save his life tonight,’ he said terming it a strange case with very little chances of survival.
The man in his thirties has reportedly gulped the pincers yesterday to win a bet. When he complained of pain in his neck, he was first brought to a hospital in Dhanera and then referred to Deesa hospital.
Dr. Gandhi said that it would be a miracle if he is saved. ‘The X Ray Report and other imaging shows that the pincers was now located somewhere between his chest and liver. It has badly damaged many internal organs. He is not breathing naturally,’ he said.
