AMC launches Bus service Route 1000 to and from airport

AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation  launches its exclusive airport shuttle bus service. The bus will have 29 pick-up and drop-off points on the 22.7 kms route. The shuttle service will start from Karnavati Club on SG Highway and will be called ‘Route 1000’. The service will start at 4 am and will run till 10.15 pm. The AMC claims this service will be the first such one in the country.
The maximum ticket price is Rs 50, from Karnavati to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Initially five buses will operate on the route and one can expect a bus at each pick up point every 30 minutes once the service becomes fully operational. Deputy municipal commissioner  informed that the bus will be WiFi enabled, have ergonomic seats and will be equipped with LED screen to provide information related to flight arrivals and departures.

The present fare rate is Rs 30 for the first 30 kms and then any distance over that will cost Rs 50. For passengers, there are special blue coloured bust stands at the pick-up and drop points as per AMC official. A few of the 29 pick-up points are Karnavati Club, Isckon Cross roads, ISRO, Shivranjini, Nehrunagar, CN Vidyalaya, Law Garden, Gujarat College, Income Tax, Shahibaug Underbridge, ACB office and then the airport.
