Today in Ahmedabad City Congress President Himmatsinh Patal, expressed concern over rising incidents of violence and atrocities on girls and ladies of Gujarat even during holy festival of Navratri.
President Patel questioned When when will BJP governmen, protect our sisters and daughters of Gujarat who permitting them to play Garba for whole night? recently in Vadodara, a minor girl was gang-raped, in Atkot of Rajkot a girl was raped, 6-years-old innocent girl in Dahod was killed after being raped, and BJP government claims everything to be safe. Why BJP is silent on rape issue of Gujarat’s sisters and daughters but they are protesting against the rape of women in West Bengal to do politics in the name of rape?
Women are not safe even in metro cities like Surat, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Rajkot. Ahmedabad and Surat are from top five states in incidents of rape and violence against women.
As many as 6524 rapes and as many as 95 gang rapes have been reported in last 5 years. An average of 6 rapes occur every day in Gujarat, which is very alarming. Congress party demands that state Home Minister should resign when BJP government has completely failed to provide security to women.
