Congress partymen protest for Adivasi’s rights in Gandhinagar

Today Addressing a press conference on “Adivasi Satyagraha” movement, Congress party Incharge of Gujarat and former Health Minister of Rajasthan Dr. Raghu Sharma said that BJP government has been doing injustice to tribal community for more than 27 years. As a result, tribal community is forced to agitate today. Double standards of BJP government in the name of land compensation have made it difficult for tribal community to make a living. Wherever there is a tribal community in Gujarat, government hospitals are deprived of health care due to inadequate staff, inadequate medicines and poor condition of hospitals.

BJP government should have framed land laws for all backward classes instead of newly framed law to grab land of the tribal community. Congress party has always been with the tribal community. The party has worked to bring tribal community into mainstream by framing laws on forest land, including MNREGA. BJP government is trying to suppress and exploit voice of the tribal community. Congress party called for a “tribal satyagraha” in Gandhinagar to protect for rights and entitlements of tribal community.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee President Jagdish Thakor while addressing press conference said that people’s movement at Satyagraha Camp to awaken deaf and dumb government sitting in Gandhinagar on burning issues of tribal community. On 25th March today at 11-00 am at Gandhinagar protest by Congress was held for Adivasi’s rights.

BJP government in power has closed its eyes and ears to address the issues of the tribal community. Government is not ready to listen to the voice of the tribal community. Despite repeated representations to the local administration, the issues have not been resolved. The call for Gandhinagar has been given by Congress inviting MLAs , MPs and leaders to join for protest.


Congress partymen including Raghu Sharma, Amit Chavda, Jagdish Thakor and Shailesh Parmar were detained by Gandhinagar police during protest for Adivasis.
