Today during a press conference in Ahmedabad, at GPCC Congress leaders Gujarat President Bharatsinh Solanki, Shaktisinh Gohil and Shankersinh Vaghela briefed media about comprehensive programs by Congress against BJP government on false promises to eradicate price rise in 100 days of rule. Congress’ women wing will make demonstrations against government from June 23 to 29 on price rise.
Congress will protest against additional 1% increase of VAT taking it from 23 % to 24 % and 2% Cess on diesel. Increase in VAT and Cess has led to comprehensive price rise ranging from 88 % to 300 % on vegetables like potato, tomato, food grains like Dal, rice and edible oil. Mainly middle class has been badly affected with burden of price rise.
