CP Joshi,Congress says Modi govt slashed Rs 1,75,122 crore on Social Sector

Today, CP Joshi, General Secretary of Congress visited Ahmedabad at GPCC, Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan. Joshi and Shakersinh Vaghela addressed media. Joshi said funds for schedule caste sub-plan have ben reduced by Rs. 13,208 crore and for tribal sub-plan by Rs 7,714 crore.

Alleging that the modi led BJP government has cut spending on social sector by whopping Rs, 1,75,122 crores in the last one year, AICC general secretary C P Joshi said on Wednesday that Modi government believed in “corporate ka saath, khud ka vikas” and not in “sabka saath, sabka vikas”. He further said that the Modi government was “retrogressive and anti-poor”.

Providing details on the cut in outlays in different social sectors, Joshi said that among the budgetary cuts also included Rs. 66,222 crore cut in grants on ‘social sector’ schemes, Rs. 5,900 crore cut by closing down `backward regions grant fund’ and Rs. 1,03,000 crore cut by not implementing the food security programme aimed at 67 % of the population.

Stating that “Modinomics of crony capitalism” has also affected agriculture and irrigation which contributing 17 % of GDP, Joshi said that funds for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yopjana had been slashed by Rs 7,426.50 crore, animal husbandry and dairy by 685 crore and ‘pradhan amndtri krishi sichai yojna’ by 8,156 crore.
According to Joshi, even funds for schedule caste sub-plan have ben reduced by Rs. 13,208 crore and for tribal sub-plan by Rs 7,714 crore.

He said that funds for even education had been cut by Rs. 14,088.59 crore and that hisgovernment had also abolished the scheme to set up 6,000 model schools at the block level across the country.
