Today Bharatiya Janta Party BJP MP CR Patil has been appointed as Gujarat BJP state president. Former Gujarat BJP President Jitu Vaghani was replaced by C.R. Patil as state BJP president. Party has also officially announced the appointment of state party President.

CR Patil was born on 16 March, 1955 at Pimpri-Akaraut, Edlabad, near Jalgaon in Maharashtra, to Raghunathji Patil and Sarubai Patil, from a very ordinary family. Schooling took place at various places in South Gujarat. Finally studied at ITI, Surat. In the year 1975, on following his father and he joined Gujarat Police. He had to face many struggles and difficulties due to his leadership and organizational qualities in government jobs. There was no organization of people representing for police and raises questions from the police group.In 1984 taking up the issue, Patil tried to form a union of police personnel. Top police officials did not like this and issued a suspension against him. Patil left his government job and took the path of struggle, for the welfare of his fellow policemen and against the injustice done to them. He is associated with the BJP for many years. Since his politically active in Gujarat, he has been appointed to this post. He has good rapport and hold in the party.
