In May 2018, with a notification by Ahmedabad police commissioner closure of the Madalpur railway underpass till August 2018. The underpass newly repaired is kept open for public access from today, after a gap of 6 months.
Today Madalpur railway underpass has been repaired with strong iron girders and separate channel to clear rain water. Start of Railway underpass will resolve issues of daily commuters including students, office goers etc passing close to Gujarat College.
Due to closer of Madalpur underpass daily commuters had to take longer route and cross the road from Paldi or close to Mithakhali railway crossing for going to Ashram road. Similarly people coming from old city towards western Ahmedabad had to use alternate log route.
