Gandhinagar: On the occasion of National Librarian Day, Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Shri Amitbhai Shah virtually inaugurated the ‘Gramin Gyan Setu’ project, aimed at strengthening access to knowledge and library facilities in the rural areas of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
The inauguration was held in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. The initiative seeks to promote reading, learning and access to educational resources among people living in rural communities.
Through the ‘Gramin Gyan Setu’ project, efforts will be made to bring library and knowledge resources closer to villagers and encourage a stronger culture of reading and education in rural areas.
The launch on National Librarian Day highlights the importance of libraries as centres of knowledge, learning and community development. The project is expected to provide rural residents, particularly students and young people, with improved opportunities to access books and educational material.
The initiative reflects the broader objective of expanding knowledge infrastructure beyond urban centres and ensuring that residents of rural areas have greater access to educational resources and learning opportunities.
