Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel initiated operation free Booster dose in state

Starting from today, Corona Booster doses are free for all people over age of 18 in India. Booster dose has now been introduced in Gujarat as well.


Operation of providing free precautionary doses to people aged 18 to 59 years in the state has started from today. On the occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was present at Sector 24 UHC Urban Health Center in Gandhinagar and initiated operation of giving precautionary dose free of charge to people aged 18 to 59 years. Apart from CM, State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel was also present.

Precaution dose will be available from today i.e. from July 15 in all government hospitals.


However free dose will only be available for next 75 days as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav celebration, precautionary doses will be given free to the people of the state for 75 days. 4.48 crore Booster dose is pending to be given people in Gujarat.


The announcement was made on Thursday.


On the other hand, if we talk about Ahmedabad, 33.27 lakh people in the city will get free prevention dose. So far only 4.45 lakh people have taken Booster dose.


Corona vaccine doses can be obtained from 80 Urban Health Centers.
