Gujarat Government officers on leave; farmers have to risk in knee deep water to save Paddy Crop

In Gujarat, it is very painful to know that water for irrigation from Sabarmati is getting drained away due to lack of negligence of government administration.

In Anand at Solia village for past 15 days, try to stop water of Sabarmati river at Fatehpura canal getting drained away which can enter into their farms and wash away their paddy crop. Farmers of Anand and Dholka area worried about their paddy crop getting wasted away.

Young to aged farmers with hand-in-hand are risking themselves in knee deep water of Sabarmati river by placing plastic bags to prevent water getting drained away.

The water is having chemical affluents, which can have adverse effect on their skin. Even knowing the risk to their hands, farmers are trying to stop loss of Paddy crop.

Officers of Gujarat government are not available as are on leave due to Holi festival.
