HCG Aastha Cancer Centre completed 2,800+ Robotic cancer surgeries.Doctors perform- 1,600+ uro-oncology robotic procedures, including 1,000+ robotic prostate cancer surgeries
Ahmedabad, June 4th, 2026: HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad one of Gujarat’s leading comprehensive cancer care institutions, successfully completed over 2,800 robotic-assisted cancer surgeries since the launch of its robotic surgery program in 2016, reinforcing its position as a pioneer and leader in robotic oncological surgery in the region. Recognized as a centre of Excellence for Robotic Cancer Surgery, the centre continued to strengthen advanced minimally invasive cancer treatment with enhanced precision, faster recovery, reduced centre stay, and improved clinical outcomes.
With two most advanced fully operational robotic surgical systems, including the addition of its second robotic platform in January 2026, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad significantly expanded its advanced surgical oncology capabilities. The centre served as a preferred destination for robotic-assisted cancer treatment for patients across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and neighbouring regions.
The robotic oncology program at HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, Ahmedabad HACCAroutinely performed complex minimally invasive procedures for multiple cancer types including urogenital cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, thoracic cancers, gynecological cancers, and head & neck cancers. The advanced robotic surgical platform enabled surgeons to perform highly delicate procedures with enhanced precision, flexibility, and control through smaller incisions, resulting in minimal blood loss, reduced post-operative discomfort, quicker recovery, and better preservation of surrounding healthy tissues.
Dr. Jagdish Kothari, Director and Consultant, GI, HPB Surgical Oncologist & Robotic Surgery, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, said, “Robotic technology brought greater surgical accuracy in gastrointestinal and HPB cancer surgeries, especially in anatomically challenging cases. It allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with minimal invasive& with best oncological outcome while improving post-operative recovery for patients.”
Dr. Hemang Bakshi, Consultant and Head, Department of Uro-Oncology & Robotic Surgeon, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, said, “Robotic-assisted surgery significantly enhanced precision and safety, particularly in complex urological cancer procedures. Over the years, we consistently witnessed improved recovery outcomes and better quality of life for patients undergoing robotic cancer surgeries.”
Dr. Kalpana Kothari, Director and Consultant, Gynec Surgical Oncologist & Robotic Surgeon, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, said, “Robotic-assisted gynecological cancer surgeries played a key role in improving surgical precision and patient comfort. The technology enabled better preservation of healthy tissues while helping patients recover faster and return to normal life sooner.”
Dr. Bharat Gadhavi, Regional Business Head – Gujarat & Jaipur, HCG said, “Strengthening robotic oncology infrastructure remained a key focus area in improving access to advanced cancer care across the region. The continued expansion of robotic-assisted surgical capabilities reflected HCG’s commitment towards delivering technology-driven, patient-centric oncology care.”
Over the past decade, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre, continued to invest in cutting-edge technology, multidisciplinary expertise, and advanced surgical infrastructure to strengthen its robotic oncology program. The centre remained committed to further expanding robotic-assisted surgical services, advancing academic and training initiatives, and integrating next-generation innovations to deliver comprehensive and precision-led cancer care.
By combining advanced robotic technology with multidisciplinary oncology expertise under one roof, HCG Aastha Cancer Centre continued to strengthen its position as a trusted destination for advanced robotic cancer treatment across Western India.
