Under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, and in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and other dignitaries, several major railway initiatives were launched in Ahmedabad.
The event marked the flagging off of India’s first LNG-powered train, along with the inauguration of the redevelopment works at Sabarmati Railway Station.
In a significant milestone for Indian Railways, projects worth more than ₹1,542 crore were also inaugurated, launched, and taken up for foundation laying across various locations. The projects focus on strengthening railway safety, operational efficiency, modern infrastructure, and passenger facilities.
The initiatives are being described as an important step toward modernising Gujarat’s railway network and advancing the use of cleaner energy and improved infrastructure in the Indian Railways.
