Today Gujarat deputy chief minister Nitin Patel and state agriculture minister RC Faldu held a press conference in Ahmedabad.
Minister Patel briefed that Gujarat government has announced on 13th November a relief package of Rs 700 crores for affected farmers of unseasonable rain in October and November. Comprehensive survey is being made on loss of crop to farmers.
In first phase a package of Rs 700 crores was announced and subsequently Rs 3,795 crores have been earmarked by state government in Budget for the benefit of farmers.
Benefit of the relief package will reach to 56.36 lakh farmer account holders from 248 talukas in 33 districts covering 18,369.
