Today, in coal block allocation case a special court hearing  involving industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla and others here has asked CBI to record the statement of former PM Manmohan Singh who was then holding the coal ministry portfolio.

Special Judge Bharat Parashar asked CBI to record the statement of Manmohan Singh in the case.The court ordered  to conduct further investigation in the case and posted the matter for January 27.CBI had booked Birla, ex coal secretary P C Parakh, and others under charges of criminal conspiracy and corruption in the coal blocks’ allocation in October 2013.
