GPCC Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee’s Media Convener and Spokesman Manish Doshi blame that Under PM-KUSUM scheme, not a single solar-powered pump under Component-C has been implemented in 13 districts of Gujarat.
PM-KUSUM scheme has given big benefits to agencies, while farmers are facing injustice.
Just like many other schemes announced for farmers, the solar-powered pump project under the PM-KUSUM scheme has also ended up in disarray.
With the continuous decline in power generation from government power plants and costly purchase of electricity from private plants, BJP government is involved in a multi-crore scam.
In the non-conventional energy sector – particularly solar energy, BJP government, which makes tall claims of large-scale production, has failed to implement even a single solar-powered pump under Component-C in 13 districts of Gujarat in the last 2 years.
Exposing the anti-farmer policy of the BJP government, Doshi stated that although the state had announced solar-powered pumps to provide electricity benefits to farmers, the reality is different.
Under this scheme, farmers were supposed to generate energy through solar-powered pumps in their fields, earn income from surplus power generation, and get the required electricity supply for their needs. But in the last 2 years, not a single solar-powered pump has been implemented in 13 districts of Gujarat.Due to the non-implementation of Component-C, thousands of farmers have been deprived of the benefits and income they were entitled to. Despite spending crores of rupees on massive announcements, BJP government has caused injustice to thousands of farmers in Gujarat.
On one hand, the government has consistently reduced production in state-owned power plants while indulging in scams worth crores by purchasing costly electricity from private power plants. On the other hand, just like many other farmer-related schemes, the solar-powered pump project under the PM-KUSUM scheme has also collapsed.
