Today Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi approved setting up of two semiconductor manufacturing units in Gujarat.
Under this project, Tata Electronics along with Taiwan based company Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation will be setup.A semiconductor fabrication unit in Dholera with an investment of Rs 91,000 crores will be established.
Also CG Power a joint venture of Renesas Electronics Corporation-Japan and Stars Micro Electronics-Thailand with an investment of Rs 7600 crores will be commissioned.A semiconductor ATMP (Assembly, Testing, Marking, Packaging) unit at Sanand will be setup.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was thanked to Prime Minister for the approval which accelerates Gujarat’s commitment to become the Semiconductor Manufacturing Hub of India.
