Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gandhinagar, state capital of Gujarat. PM also inauguarted 3 storeyed Dandi Kutir specially built to give tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi visited entire and watched Dandi Kutir Exhibition. It is world’s biggest exhibition.
PM Modi welcomed to the guests and participants at PBD. PM emphasised on Make In India, Clean Ganga and Cleanliness Drive. Modi re-iterated that PBD celebration marks 100 years of Gandhiji’s return to India from South Africa. He further said The way cleanliness drive for river Ganga is an environmental matter, same way it can be the source of economic activity for people. He appealed people to join us this endeavour. Everything is not measured in dollars or pounds.The relationship we have with Pravasis is beyond that.He updated that PIO and OCI have been merged and everyone would be able to enjoy same facilities now.
EAM Sushma Swaraj, Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and Guyana President Donald Ramotar gave speeches at PBD. Gujarat CM welcomed all participants at PBD and said it connects us with roots.
