For rape and murder of 32 year old lady, a security guard has been arrested from Luknow, Uttar Pradesh’s capital. Guard was arrested along with two others .The naked, badly-mutilated body of a lady, a mother of two, was spotted by a watchman near a primary school in Mohanlalganj on the outskirts of the city on Thursday morning. Post-mortem report indicated that victim was killed on the previous day. As per report lady died due to hemorrhage caused by multiple injuries ,12 including on her private parts , but did not confirm rape. As per new law tough law framed after Delhi gang rape of 2012, injuries sustained qualifies as rape. Victim later succumbed to her injuries.Police said that the 32-year-old lady used to work as a lab assistant in a prestigious hospital in the city. Her husband died three years ago after a prolonged illness.
The latest incident has yet again highlighted the alarming rise in crimes against women in Uttar Pradesh. UP, chief minister has come under fire in the last few months over the deteriorating law and order situation, especially after a string of rapes including the ones in Badaun which sparked global outrage and condemnation.
