Six Army troops deployed in Gujarat to help state administration after heavy rain

After yesterday’s heavy rain in Gujarat central government has deployed six troops of Indian Army to help in relief, rescue and disaster management work in Gujarat, the  areas affected by heavy rain. Troops will assist state and district administration of Devabhoomi Dwarka, Anand, Vadodara, Kheda, Morbi, and Rajkot.  Unabated downpour claims four lives – one person each from Morbi and Dahod, and two from Gandhinagar.

Weather agency IMD India Meteorological Department  has given ‘red alert’ in many districts, predicting heavy to very heavy rain in next 5 days. People of Saurashtra region, have been advised to avoid waterlogged zones and exercise caution. In Vadodara, power failures have occurred in some regions due to flooding and water logging. Due to heavy rain holiday was given in of schools and colleges on Tuesday to ensure the safety of students.  IMD predicts thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across various districts, underscoring the severity of the weather conditions.
