Surat Civil doctors and staff infected with Coronavirus, hospital demands extra staff

In view of increasing transition of Coronavirus, three hospitals in the Civil Campus have been set up with a capacity of 1500 beds in Covid, Kidney and old hospital building.

Cases of CoronaVirus are increasing alarmingly in Surat city and district. In the third wave, 74 staff members, including civil hospital doctors, have been infected with CoronaVirus. About 50 other staff members, including 27 doctors, are currently in isolation. Figures show that Coronavirus cases may pose danger in the coming days. As a result, the civil administration has demanded an additional 3,500 employees from the government.

There are also 33 medical officers, 760 nurses, 190 paramedical staff, 460 class-4 employees, 39 pharmacists, 8 biomedical engineers, 117 data entry operators, 16 drivers, 5 counselors, 149 security guards and 17 oxygen operators.

In the current situation, medical officials fear that in coming days, Coronavirus case could be transmitted to staff, including civil doctors. The Civil Hospital system therefore has demanded additional 160 specialist doctors, 290 medical officers, 800 nurses, 98 paramedical staff, 1,250 class-4 staff, 36 pharmacists, 16 biomedical engineers, 25 body packing staff, 180 data entry operators, 300 patient care staff, Demanded 12 drivers, 60 councilors, 240 security guards, 27 firemen and 9 oxygen operators.
