Three Arrested for ₹9.60 Lakh Cyber Fraud in Fake Civil Hospital, AMC Tender Scam

Ahmedabad: The Cyber Crime Branch of Ahmedabad Police has arrested three persons for allegedly cheating a businessman of ₹9.60 lakh by luring him with a fake government tender purportedly issued in the names of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The arrests were made following a complaint filed by the owner of a company based in the Satellite area of the city. According to police, the accused approached the businessman claiming they could secure him a government contract to supply 2,000 disposable bags to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.

To gain the victim’s trust, the accused allegedly sent forged documents, including a fake Civil Hospital employee identity card, fabricated tender forms, purchase orders and other official-looking documents. Believing the contract to be genuine, the businessman transferred ₹9.60 lakh, only to later discover that he had been duped.

Based on the complaint, the Cyber Crime Branch launched an investigation, traced the accused and arrested all three individuals. Police are probing whether the accused were involved in similar fraudulent tender scams targeting other businesses and are examining the extent of the racket
