Today Rains have arrived in Ahmedabad and across entire Gujarat. There is a forecast from weather agency IMD Indian Meteorological Department about rain in areas in city including Shahibaug, Maninagar, Sabarmati, Chandkheda, SG Highway, Juhapura, Sarkhej, Airport, Paldi, Gota, Sola, Thaltej, Khokhra, Nava Naroda, Asarwa, and Vejalpur. Whole of Ahmedabad is soaked by rain again, leading to water logging on the roads in low lying areas.Heavy rains were felt in Vadodara today in Waghodia taluka. Umarpada in Surat receorded about 14 inches of rain in just 4 hours, due to which Veera and Mohan rivers overflow. Water logging has occurred in various places, Umarpada taluka’s connection to Umargot has been marooned. Also, low-lying areas and villages have been flooded.
As per IMD forecast today, districts in south Gujarat including Bharuch, the Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, and Valsad will get very heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall is also likely in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Anand, Vadodara, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Panchmahal, Junagadh, Rajkot, Gir Somnath, Amreli, and Bhavnagar while Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Kheda, Morbi, Patan, Aravalli, Jamnagar, and Porbandar are expected to get light rain.
On July 16, heavy rains are predicted in areas of Saurashtra and south Gujarat, including Devbhoomi Dwarka, Morbi, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Narmada, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Amreli, and Gandhinagar. On July 17, heavy rainfall is likely in Valsad, Navsari, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Rajkot, Junagadh, Porbandar, and Devbhumi Dwarka. Heavy rainfall is expected in districts including Surendranagar, Kutch, Morbi, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, the Dangs, Vadodara, and others will receive significant rain. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Mahisagar, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Kheda, Gandhinagar, and Mehsana districts. On July 18, very heavy rainfall is expected for Porbandar, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Amreli, Jamnagar, Devbhumi Dwarka in Saurashtra, and Valsad and Navsari in South Gujarat. Light to moderate rainfall will prevail in most other areas of the state.
