Gujarat police has submitted that in atrocities on Dalits of Samdhiyana of Una was done for skinning cow, those cows were killed by lions and not Dalits. Atrocities by Gau Sewaks on Dalits is highly condemned from all around. Even, its echo has reached upto Delhi and lots of politics is played on the issue.
One officer SS Trivedi of CID Crime Branch Investigating the matter has learnt from eye witness that between July 10 and 11 night cows were killed by lions. In Bediya village one cow was killed and from surrounding village 3 cows were killed. Next day morning Dalits were called to clear deadbodies of cows. Therefore, it is evident that Dalits were not involved in killing of cows. This village is close to Gir forest and lions have their habitat in the forest. Some villages are with wild cats.
When Dalits were skinning dead cows who had called Gau Sewaks and gave misleading information and what was the motive behind it. On 11 July in Samdhiyana Dalits were beaten in public which has far reaching consequences.
